The Best Halloween Episodes From Disney Channel’s Golden Age

A halloween party prank gone wrong. An outrageous costume appearance. A visit from the supernatural. Put these things together and you’ve got yourself a grade-A Disney Channel halloween episode. Anyone who tuned into Disney Channel’s early 2000’s knows that this represents the network’s golden era. Like clockwork, each halloween, Disney Channel turned out a spooky selection of themed episodes.

1. Even Stevens: A Very Scary Story (2001)

In this classic episode, Louis plans to unleash his usual shenanigans, albeit Halloween-style (and wearing a penguin jockey costume). Meanwhile, the school mysteriously turns into a spooky evil lair run by Ren, the mistress of all evil, and the dubious Principal Tugnut. Their evil mission? To transform every student at school into the PERFECT STUDENT! Dun dun dun…

2. Lizzie McGuire: Night of the Day of the Dead (2001)

Nothing screams middle school angst like hating your Halloween costume because the popular girl wore the idea that you had first. Such is Lizzie McGuire’s life! When Kate takes the cool costume, Lizzie is stuck with being a lowly clown. As a method of revenge and with the help of Gordo and Miranda, a halloween prank will clearly ensue.

3. Kim Possible: October 31st (2002)

KP deals with the typical teen life, fibbing to her parents in order to hit up a rad halloween party. In a stellar ‘princess-inator’ costume no less. Unfortunately, the bionic arm taken from the evil Drakken is actually a gadget that grows each time the owner lies…talk about bad timing.

4. That’s So Raven: Don’t Have a Cow (2003)

In another halloween party gone awry, Raven and Chelsea attempt to cast a popularity spell, but accidentally turn themselves into cows. OOHH (or should I say MOOOOO) SNAP. It’s a bummer Raven didn’t see that one coming!

5. The Proud Family: A Hero for Halloween (2002)

What’s a Disney Channel halloween episode without some magic? After eating a mysterious halloween treat, Penny develops superpowers just in time to fight crime and vanquish a ghost! Also, Sugar Mama dresses as the Bride of Frankenstein.

6. Phil of the Future: Halloween (2004)

Turns out Debbie is a creepy cyborg so Phil and Keely are left to save the world (guess that’s what happens when you’re from the future). Outrageous costume in the form of two-headed football player: check! Halloween gone awry in the form of cyborgs taking over the town: check! Visit from the supernatural in the form of said cyborg: Check! This one’s a golden DC halloween episode for sure.

7. The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: The Ghost of Suite 613 (2005)

Disney Channel

If you live in a hotel with a haunting tale of an empty room there’s only one thing that can be done…slumber party of course! In this episode, the twins, Esteban, London and Maddie all spend halloween night in the mysterious Room 613. Muriel shares the ghost story (she always did have the best hotel gossip!), and then Esteban holds a seance and speaks to the ghost who turns out to be super chill with people invading her room.

8. The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: Arwinstein (2007)

Two Halloweens later, mischief continues to ensue at the Tipton! Zack and Cody unleash Arwin’s Frankenstein-esque robot, who ends up winning best costume at the hotel costume party. Of course, Moseby isn’t a fan.

9. Disney’s Doug: Night of the Living Dougs (1998)

This one technically aired shortly before the golden era, but we’ll still include this classic show. Just before halloween, Doug has a dream that everyone in his town were turning into a clone of himself. The dream inspires his costume for Beebe’s halloween party….himself! Way to metaphorically teach the moral of ‘always be yourself’, Doug!
