I scream, you scream for the return of Ghostface! Halloween is coming early with the latest installment in the Scream series hitting theatres this spring. Here’s everything we know about Scream 6 coming to theaters March, 10th 2023.
What is Scream 6 About?
Scream 6 picks up where the soft reboot of the series, Scream (2022), left off. In it, we focus on the survivors from the last film, Mindy, Chad, and Tara who have moved from Woodsboro, California to New York City to attend college.
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett promise to bend the long established slasher rules of the series, alluding to new twists and turns to the latest installment of the franchise. However, fans can still expect the gore they know and love about the series. Jenna Ortega confirms Scream 6 will be ‘pretty gory’ in an Entertainment Tonight interview.
Scream 6’s Ghostface Promises to be ‘Something Different’
The setting is not only the only thing change in the latest Scream movie. Ghostface explicitly promises to shake things up. The trailer hints that this version of Ghostface has a fan club as the main cast is stalked throughout various locations ranging from a bodega to a packed subway car.

Cast Members Returning to Scream 6
Moviegoers will be able to see Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Melissa Barrera all reprise their roles from the 2022 reboot.
Long time fans will also be treated to returns of legacy actors such as Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers who has appeared in every Scream film since 1996. Additionally, Hayden Panettiere will also be bringing back her character of Kirby Reed from Scream 4.
Neve Campbell Announces She Will Not Be Returning to the Franchise
Long time star of the franchise and certified scream queen Neve Campbell will not be reprising her role in this latest installment. Campbell cites salary issues that led to her ultimately declining the role. Despite her absence, the movie will be sure to reference the iconic final girl in a few scenes.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE #Scream. But how the hell are you gunna have a Scream movie without Neve Campbell?! That’s like making a Shrek movie without the damn ogre… pic.twitter.com/OyzjGQPbg7

I’ll still be there for #ScreamVI but to not have Neve Campbell in the film is a bummer. pic.twitter.com/TmMNjfTx2n
