It’s official– Anne Hathaway will star in Verity, the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel.
Michael Showalter (The Eyes of Tammy Faye) is set to direct the upcoming film, which is slated for a theatrical release. The latest script was penned by Nick Antosca, building upon earlier drafts by Hillary Seitz, Angela LaManna, and the writing team of Will Honley and April Maguire.

In Verity, Anne Hathaway is set to play Verity Crawford, a famous author left unable to complete her thriller series after a horrific car accident. Her husband, Jeremy, offers a struggling writer, Lowen, a large sum of money to complete the books. As Lowen takes on the task, she uncovers disturbing secrets, including an unfinished manuscript revealing shocking truths about Verity and her family. Now, Lowen must decide whether Verity is a brilliant storyteller or a dangerous psychopath. The roles of Jeremy and Lowen have not been cast yet.
Anne Hathaway’s is sure keeping busy, and her other upcoming projects include David Lowery’s Mother Mary, the sci-fi film Flowervale Street, and a third installment in the Princess Diaries franchise.
