The Oasis Lore: The Story Behind Liam and Noel’s Feud

Oasis, a five-member band formed in Manchester in 1991, is often credited with breathing new life into Britpop. This is spurred on by their famous rivalry with the London band Blur.

Amidst a band with a constantly shifting lineup, the Gallaghers remained a fixture, gaining notoriety for their raucous behavior and tabloid headlines. This only fueled their evolving sibling rivalry.

Liam and Noel were infamous for their constant bickering, and their conflicts reached a climax on August 28, 2009, when the band disbanded just moments before they were scheduled to perform at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

Their split was the result of years of conflict between the brothers, highlighted by incidents such as Liam’s public questioning of Noel’s child’s paternity and an altercation in which Noel struck Liam with a cricket bat, and an MTV performance where Noel harassed his brother from the audience.

Despite their long-standing feud, the siblings appear to have worked through their issues and emerged stronger. Fans worldwide are buzzing at the prospect of an Oasis reunion and are eagerly anticipating future tour announcements.
