Woody Allen‘s next film The Wrong Picture is set in Italy with, so far, a very non-Italian cast: Jesse Eisenberg, Penelope Cruz, Ellen Page and Alec Baldwin. But according to Deadline, that cast may get a leetle bit more Italiano! They report that the Iconic Italian director/actor Roberto Benigni may join the ensemble cast, marking probably one of the first times North American audiences will see him in a film since he won Best Actor for Life is Beautiful in 1997 (unless, of course, you were one of those few, unlucky folks who saw his take on Pinocchio, which was, err, interesting…).
Allen is expected to announce Benigni’s involvement when he premieres his latest film Midnight in Paris at Cannes Film Festival in just a few short weeks.
