Pull up a chair and get comfortable, because you won’t be going anywhere. The Menu is a black comedy horror film that follows a young couple, Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) and Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy), who travel to a remote, coastal island to dine at celebrity chef Julian Slowik’s (Ralph Fiennes) exclusive restaurant called the Hawthorne and are faced with a few shocking twists along the way.
Beneath the beautiful, brutalist architecture of the Hawthorne lurks something sinister. The creepy culinary experience continues to spiral as the courses continue to emerge. With each twist comes a new crisis that this group of upper-class diners must confront. It highlights the over-commercialization of eating and acting as a poignant commentary on consumer culture.
The Menu Cast
The film is directed by Mark Mylod, known for his work on highly regarded TV shows such as Shameless and Game of Thrones as well as the recent hit, Succession. In addition, The Menu features other notable members behind the scenes with producers Adam McKay and Will Ferrell, as well as writers Seth Reiss and Will Tracy. Reiss and Tracy are interesting to note, as they had previously worked on HBO’s Succession as well alongside Mylod, both held numerous roles in late-night with the likes of John Oliver and Seth Myers, and were contributing writers to the satirical media company, The Onion. Other on-screen members of the cast include Hong Chau, Janet McTeer, Aimee Carrero, Paul Adelstein, and John Leguizamo.

#TheMenu was spectacular. Hilarious and brilliant from ‘appetizer to dessert’ with incredible performances across the board. It starts with its foot on the gas and never lets up, not a wasted moment.
