So we’ll just admit it, we weren’t always fans of Ron and Hermione’s relationship. Honestly, after he whined and threw a fit when she went with Viktor Krum to the Yule Ball, we just knew these two could never be more than friends. Which brings us to Draco Malfoy; prejudice pure blood wizard, Harry Potter‘s sworn arch enemy and golden haired god. According to Harry Potter fans who ship Dramione (yes that’s what they’re called), all of the times Miss Granger was sliding down to the library, Draco was secretly slithering up to her. Listen, don’t shoot the messenger, we’re just telling you what’s on the interweb, and we even have evidence. Here are 5 pieces of evidence that prove Hermione and Malfoy totally had a thing.
1. Hermione was one of the only people who was brave enough to stand up to Draco.
Coming from an affluent pure blood family, Draco had mastered the sneer and and the prejudice against Muggle-born witches and wizard. However, when Hermione literally knocked him in the face; he saw the light. While Draco’s fellow Slytherin minions were worshiping the ground he walked on, Hermione was casting her spell on him by putting him in his place.
2. Draco was dazzled by Hermione at the Yule Ball.
In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Hermione enters the Ball with Viktor and literally leaves Draco speechless. J.K. Rowling writes, “Pansy Parkinson gaped at her as she walked by with Malfoy, and even he didn’t seem to be able to find an insult to throw at her.” He was obviously stunned by her beauty.
3. Malfoy was low-key kind of a smarty.
He might been a major douche socially, however Malfoy was the master of Potions and he also did well in Charms and Transfiguration. Now we all adore Ron, but we know he wasn’t always about the books. Hermione definitely needed someone who could match her intellectually.
4. Malfoy defied Lord Voldemort and his parents for Hermione.
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Harry, Ron and Hermione are caught by wizard snatchers and dragged to the Malfoy Manner. When Draco is asked to confirm,the trios identity, he lies and pretends like he doesn’t know who they are At the time, it just looked like he was deciding not to be a f*ckboy for once, but Dramione shippers argue that it was because of Hermione that he chose to turn his back on his family and the Dark Lord.
5. Even J.K. Rowling considered Dramione.
Though Hermione and Ron do end up together at the end of the HP Saga, the acclaimed author has said in several interviews that she considered having Hermione and Draco end up together in the end. Rowling even suggested that Draco bullying Hermione was like adolescent hair pulling on the playground. She has also said that his secret feelings for her did in fact influence his actions at the Malfoy Manor and the final battle of Hogwarts.
Whether this Harry Potter fan theory pleases you or not, you have to admit it’s a least a tad sexy to think about, right? It also helps that Emma Watson who played Hermione once said she used to have a bit of a crush on Tom Felton aka Draco Malfoy.
