Harry Potter fans have seen a lot of death throughout seven books and eight movies. Thankfully though, none of those deaths were Professor Minerva McGonagall (Maggie Smith)! McGonagall may have practiced tough love with her students but she always had a big heart for everyone. From when she comforted Trelawney during Umbridge’s reign to when she showed off some classic dance moves, McGonagall will always have a place in our heart for these 11 reasons.
1. Her shade game puts everyone else’s shade game to shame.
2. She’s usually calm and collected but she can get excited about doing cool things too.
3. She knows how to hold her tongue when she needs to.
McGonagall was the first person to come to Trelawney’s defense when Umbridge fired the Divination professor!
4. She’s a fierce, unstoppable fighter!
5. She doesn’t let bad behavior go unnoticed, regardless of the circumstances.
6. BOOM!
7. She always makes sure her students succeed.
Has anyone else had a professor send them a Nimbus 2000? All professors will be compared to McGonagall for this reason!
8. She’s a classy lady.
9. She will not let anyone besmirch a great evening by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons.
10. She doesn’t have time for suck-ups.
11. And she may be a tough professor but she still loves her students.
