Only in Hollywood could the tried-and-true tradition of unrealistic age gaps between mother and child thrive. It’s the land of make-believe, after all! So it isn’t all that surprising that there are multiple instances where in-no-way should these parents ACTUALLY be the parents of cinematic children who would probably make more realistic friends than offspring.
Nowhere is that trend more prominent than in the newest installment of The Twilight Saga (Breaking Dawn – Part 2), wherein Kristen Stewart is a mother to Renesmee, a vampire-human hybrid being that ages very, very fast. Two two are 22 and 12 years old, respectively in real life.
It’s surprising how often this happens—especially with women in the mother role. And while we won’t lecture you on how in certain instances, this further exacerbates an unrealistic beauty standard for females in our society, we will let you know that if this list were true to real life, there’d be a lot of 7-year-old mothers running around.
