Simon Cowell throws The Greatest Showman theme party for son Eric’s birthday

Simon Cowell has splashed on an elaborate The Greatest Showman themed party for his son Eric’s birthday.

According to British newspaper The Sun the music mogul hired London’s luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hotel, where rooms can cost up to $12,920, for the star-studded bash in honor of Eric’s fifth birthday on Saturday (16Feb19). The X Factor judge hosted the event alongside Eric’s mom, partner Lauren Silverman.

“Everyone was joking that Simon was like Hugh Jackman’s character because he was the ringmaster,” a source told the publication. “The kids got to sing their favourite songs from the film and the whole place was decked out just like the circus.”

Simon’s celebrity pals, including The Greatest Dancer judge Cheryl Tweedy and Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon attended the bash, with the father of one sparing no expense to ensure the was a success for his son.

“Simon spared no expense in making sure it was the perfect occasion for little Eric,” the source added. “Loads of celebrities were invited with their families and Eric’s own friends came, too.”
The Greatest Showman was one of last year’s box office hits, while its accompanying soundtrack was the biggest-selling album of the year in the U.K..

The X Factor boss has a long history with the Mandarin, having reportedly spent $2,500 on a room at the hotel so that he could take a bath after his boiler broke at home a few years ago.
