Ben Affleck, who plays CIA analyst Jack Ryan in The Sum of All Fears, follows in the footsteps of Harrison Ford–who has played Ryan in previous films, to People magazine:
“Harrison Ford is so his own man. There is no next Harrison Ford. If I tried to do what he does, I would only be a pale imitation of Harrison Ford.
“For me, it was about trying to invent it in a new way so that I could approach it, which is what we did by starting over from the beginning.”
