Post Malone Gets Tattoo Tribute to Late Rapper Pal Lil Peep

Post Malone has paid tribute to Lil Peep by getting an image of the late rapper’s face tattooed on his arm.

The 21-year-old musician, real name Gustav Ahr, was found dead on his tour bus before a concert in Tucson, Arizona earlier this month (Nov17).

Malone, real name Austin Richard Post, was quick to pay tribute to his friend following the tragic news of his death, writing on Twitter: “In the short time that I knew you, you were a great friend to me and a great person.

“Your music changed the world and it’ll never be the same. I love you bud. forever.”

And now Malone has decided to make his tribute to the rapper eternal, by having his image etched onto his upper left arm. Basing the design on a picture of Peep, tattoo artist Ricky Clipz was responsible for completing the incredible likeness, with Malone showing off the finished result on his Snapchat account.

After Peep’s death, Malone also told H3 Podcast just how much he misses his friend, adding: “I only knew him for a little bit. But more than (the) genuine good real true person that he was, his music was going to change the culture of everything. Already shifting culture in such a short period of time. He’s an incredible, talented dude and good guy.”

It’s believed that Peep died of a drug overdose, but toxicology results have yet to confirm the speculation. It was claimed earlier this week that police suspect Peep may have taken drugs laced with the deadly opiod fentanyl.

The claims align with what Peep’s brother Oskar said following his death – that he believes his sibling accidentally took tainted drugs.

“We (Peep’s family) have heard there was some sort of substance he did not expect to be involved in the substance he was taking,” Oskar told People magazine.

“He thought he could take what he did, but he had been given something and he didn’t realise what it was. It was an accident, it really was an accident. He was super happy with where he was in life.”

Fentanyl is more than 50 times more powerful than morphine, and is available on prescription – despite even a small dose being potentially lethal.

Prince’s death last year (16) was ruled to have been caused by a fentanyl overdose.
