Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon are expecting, a source close to the couple reports. “They’re both very excited and very happy,” the anonymous source reports. Speculation over Carey’s pregnancy has run rampant after the actress dropped out of her role in the latest Tyler Perry film, citing health reasons. Carey and Cannon were also seen leaving a fertility clinic last month.
Carey’s publicist, Cindi Berger, did not confirm or debunk the speculation, stating “I’m not at liberty to discuss Mariah’s personal life at this time.”
While Cannon and Carey are remaining coy, they’ve encouraged pregnancy rumors in the past. In March, Carey informed her audience at the Independent Spirit Awards that “Something special is on the way!” and both have discussed their desire to start a family.
Cannon, a former child actor, married pop Diva Carey in the Bahamas in 2008 after a brief, 6 week courtship. If the rumors prove to be true, this will be the couple’s first child. Hopefully, Cannon won’t try giving his offspring a diamond-coated pacifier.
