2 new horror movies in theaters
Nope
Horror master Jordan Peele makes a triumphant return with the upcoming sci-fi horror film, Nope. Jordan has been skilled at keeping a lot of the plot a secret, but what we know so far is that the movie follows caretakers at a California horse ranch who encounter a mysterious force. What could this force be? We have no clue, but we’re itching to find out.
The film has an all-star cast including Keke Palmer, Get Out’s Daniel Kuluuya, Steven Yuen, Brandon Perea, and Barbie Ferreira.
Jordan Peele’s horror artistry includes a mix of humor, fear, and political satire like in his movies Get Out and Us. We hope Nope continues that tradition.

He’s a genius. A GENIUS, I SAY. I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again: I love that Jordan Peele’s projects have become genre events. #NOPEMOVIE https://t.co/oZ5YIANYDd

Jordan Peele out here flexing that 65mm film. #NOPEMovie also looks exhilarating and I definitely already booked my tickets for @IMAX since this will have select sequences in 15/70 format. pic.twitter.com/ci11TuSgDX

Bodies, Bodies, Bodies
If you’re into more of the black comedy slasher type, like the Scream series or Cabin in the Woods, check out Bodies, Bodies, Bodies when it comes to theaters on August 5th. In this film, rich 20-somethings with nothing better to do during a hurricane have a little party game in a big mansion. When the game leads to a murder, the group must find out who the killer is. This game of cat and mouse stars Rachel Senott, Amandla Stenberg, Chase Sui Wonders, Pete Davidson, and Maria Bakalova.
2 Horror movies coming soon
Halloween Ends
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to defeat Michael Myers for (possibly) the last time in Halloween Ends. The movie follows the 2021 Halloween Kills, where Laurie is now an older woman, but can still fight like hell. She is joined by her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak), Deputy Frank Hawkins (Will Patton), Lindsey Wallace (Kyle Richards), and the unforgettable Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle).
Fans are desperately waiting for any bits of new info on the film.

Don’t Worry Darling
One of the most anticipated films of the year, Don’t Worry Darling, makes its way to theaters on September 23, 2022. Florence Pugh and Harry Styles star as happy couple Alice and Jack in this psychological thriller where they live in a “perfect” 1950’s styled community. As Alice begins to question the town, everything is not what it seems, and something more sinister is lurking underneath. Directed and also starring Olivia Wilde, the all-star cast includes Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, and Nick Kroll.
While Harry Styles made his acting debut in movies like Dunkirk and Eternals, we’re excited to see him bring this sophisticated (maybe evil) character to the screen. And don’t even get us started about the trailer. One word: HOT!

2 horror movies streaming on Netflix, Hulu, and more
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Netflix breathes new life into the 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre with a modern adaptation. When influencers head to a Texas ghost town to reinvent the area, they come face to face with Leatherface — the bloody killer that wreaked havoc many years before. Protagonist Sally Hardesty returns, but Olwen Fouéré portrays the original sole survivor as final girl actress Marilyn Burns died in 2014.
The Netflix original brought a new audience to the beloved horror franchise.
why did i just find out that there is a Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022 on netflix. i never knew there was a movie in 2022, that’s cool af

Fresh
Daisy Edgar-Jones is a young woman unlucky with the dating apps in this comedy thriller film Fresh. After she meets the man of her dreams at a grocery store, Steve (played by Sebastian Stan), she gets caught in his dangerous, horrifying plans. It’s up to her to get herself out, but how?
Now, this film may cause you never to look at a piece of meat normally ever again. But it’s worth it for a movie — right? It’s the perfect mix of comedy and horror and illustrates the bigger message of the reality of online dating for women in the present.
I stumbled upon Fresh on hotstar and it’s the most fucked up movie I’ve ever seen. Absolutely loved it lol. Highly recommend.

#SebastianStan ‘s exquisite acting in #Freshmovie .. His performance was delicious pic.twitter.com/uxOYXlp7kT

Been watching a lot of horror stuff lately, saw Fresh and Hereditary. Both fantastic movies, Fresh was probably one of the best thrillers I’ve seen since seeing The Invitation. We need more non-marvel Sebastian Stan movies

Our pick of best horror movies of 2022
Scream
The iconic slasher series, Scream, returned with a bloody entrance and updated story. Twenty-five years after the brutal murders in Woodsboro, California, another Ghostface killer is on the loose. This new killer begins to attack a group of teenagers (played by Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Mikey Madison, and Dylan Minnette). They must work together to determine who Ghostface is, but they need some help. Enter final girl Sidney (Neve Campbell), journalist Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox), and retired sheriff Dewey Riley (David Arquette).
This film brings the nostalgia of the original Scream films while making sure to keep the plot fresh and adaptable for the modern age. There are twists and turns at every corner, and you won’t know what comes next.

Watched Scream (2022) & have to say I really loved it. Scream is my top horror series & while some movies have been a lesser for me, I found the new characters & direction this time gave the series a much-needed kick in the ass in a fresh direction. X
The 1970’s come to 2022 in this slasher movie X. The film follows a group of actors who plan to make an adult movie in rural Texas. As they stay with a reclusive old couple, they soon realize they are in a dangerous fight for their lives. It stars Jenna Ortega, Brittany Snow, Mia Goth, Martin Henderson, Owen Campbell, and Kid Cudi.
The slasher sets out to be gritty, sexy, scary, and controversial — exactly what a horror film should be. A prequel with Mia Goth, called Pearl is currently in pre-production.

Umma
A mother-daughter bond is unbreakable — even when danger calls. In Umma, Amanda (Sandra Oh) and her daughter (Fivel Stewart) live a quiet life on a farm. When the remains of Amanda’s estranged mother arrive from Korea, Amanda soon fears that she will turn into her mother.
While scary, Umma is first and foremost a film about the complex relationships between mother and daughters and confronting trauma from the past.
Umma is probably the best horror movie I’ve watched in a while
