Samuel L. Jackson Bashes Bad ‘Avengers’ Review on Twitter

AvengersSamuel L. Jackson: Not exactly the strong silent type. The actor is known for playing a loudmouthed hothead on screen, but apparently he’s not exactly too far from the type in real life either. Although Jackson’s upcoming movie The Avengers is receiving a handful of positive reviews, including Hollywood.com Movies Editor Matt Patches’ review, there are some who were less than impressed by the film. Namely, New York Times film critic A.O. Scott.

In response to Scott’s review, Jackson Tweeted the following message, “#Avengers fans,NY Times critic AO Scott needs a new job! Let’s help him find one! One he can ACTUALLY do!” The statement incurred a handful of negative responses from Twitter users; Jackson has replied to some with an equal exclamatory severity. (Sorry, did he break your concentration?!)

The upside is that Jackson is clearly invested in the fact that The Avengers is impervious to flaw. But anxious fans should celebrate this, if anything. If a movie is good enough to get one of its stars riled up over the very idea that someone doesn’t like it, then it’s probably worth checking out. Plus, who wants to upset Samuel L. Jackson?
