Liv Tyler: ‘Marriage proposal wasn’t very glamorous’

Actress Liv Tyler has revealed she was caught completely off-guard by her fiance’s proposal last year (14), confessing it “wasn’t a very glamorous moment”.
David Beckham’s sports agent pal Dave Gardner popped the question to the Armageddon beauty a year ago (14), and although rumours of their engagement first surfaced in early 2015, Liv only confirmed the news last month (Nov15).
The Leftovers star has now opened up about the special moment for the first time, admitting she was so unprepared, she is convinced she looked terrible.
“It was very sweet,” she revealed on a pre-taped episode of U.S. talk show FABLife. “I was very surprised. I had no idea! And I didn’t look very attractive!
“I was pregnant, and I was like, crying, and had just come out of the shower, and I was… unpacking,” Liv laughed. “It wasn’t a very glamorous moment!”
However, FABLife co-host, fashion stylist Joe Zee, assured Liv her fiance probably didn’t see it the same way.
“I think you think that,” he insisted. “But I think in his head, it was probably the most beautiful moment ever.”
The interview airs in America on Friday (11Dec15).
Liv was first spotted wearing what appeared to be a large diamond engagement ring on her left hand during an outing in New York City in February (15), days after giving birth to their son Sailor Gene.
She remained quiet about the engagement rumours for months, until finally acknowledging the happy news on Instagram.com in late November, as she shared a photo of the couple online.
“Crazy about my man!!!!!”, she captioned the snap. “sweet sweet daddy, friend , fiance Thank you !!!!!! Grateful”.
The couple began dating early last year (14) and its forthcoming wedding will be 38-year-old Liv’s second. The fiercely-private actress, whose father is Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, was previously married to rocker Royston Langdon, the father of her 10-year-old son, Milo.
Dave also has another child, seven-year-old son Gray, with his ex-wife, British actress Davinia Taylor.
