Darren Criss Remembers His ‘Glee’ Co-Star Cory Monteith

During his appearance on Conan Thursday night, Glee actor Darren Criss talked about his recently deceased co-star Cory Monteith. When asked by the late-night host how the Glee cast is dealing with the tragic loss, Criss had some eloquent and touching words to say about his departed friend.

“We’re picking up the pieces now, and there’s two things you’ve got to remember about Cory,” Criss said. “One is, he was a really funny guy, had a great sense of humor, and he loved life, and he always took care of his friends and wanted his friends to be happy. So it’s only right that we, you know, try and start to smile again, try and laugh again, it’s something that he would have wanted.”

Criss, who is set to co-host the Teen Choice Awards on August 11, also reflected on the legacy that Monteith will leave.

“He will be severely missed but I’m just so happy that a guy like him got to touch as many lives as he did while we were all lucky enough to have him,” Criss said.

Fox Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly stated on Wednesday that Glee will address the death of Monteith’s character Finn during the third episode of the new season.
