Asa Butterfield is ready to play Ender’s Game. The Hugo star announced via Twitter today — and The Wrap subsequently confirmed — that he’s landed the coveted lead role in Gavin Hood’s (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) much-anticipated adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s 1985 science fiction novel. The 14-year-old UK native will play Andrew “Ender” Wiggins, a genetically enhanced boy whose gaming skills may form Earth’s best hope against alien invaders. The film is currently slated for a March 15, 2013 release.
