Mirror, mirror on the wall, what Snow White big screen adaptation is the punniest of them all? Clearly, that would be Mirror Mirror.
Iin a poster depicting leading male Armie Hammer wielding his sword, there reads the following caption: “An Army of One.” Never before have I been so effectively won over by a piece of advertising. The second poster is not as prominent a victory for Mirror Mirror pun-dits, but not everything can be as gallant as wall-breaking, name-mocking jokes like the Hammer’s. Nathan Lane, playing the Evil Queen’s (Julia Roberts) spineless servant Brighton, touts his eyeglasses above a caption that reads “Spec-tacular.” Like I said, it’s no “Army.” But you’ve won me over, Mirror2. Thank you for your services to wordplay. Now, let’s see what you can do with swordplay!… Again, no “Army.”
Mirror Mirror, starring Lily Collins as Snow White, reaches theaters March 30. Click here for more of the film’s pun-derful posters.
